These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Read Bean mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Refond, Inc. ("Read Bean," "we," "our," or "us").
By creating an account or using Read Bean, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use Read Bean.
By using the Service, you represent that:

If you use Read Bean on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Description of the Service
Read Bean provides AI-powered language learning tools designed to help users improve their Mandarin Chinese reading, comprehension, vocabulary, and speaking skills.
Features may include:
AI-generated reading lessons
Vocabulary and grammar explanations
Tap-to-translate and learning tools
Personalized reading content
Speaking scenario practice
Voice input and speech recognition
AI-generated speech and audio
Progress tracking and personalization
Conversation and language practice tools
The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence providers to generate content, explanations, corrections, recommendations, and speaking practice responses.
AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unnatural. Language learning content is provided for educational purposes only.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for:
Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
All activity under your account
Providing accurate information
You may not:
Share your account with others
Use another person's account without permission
Impersonate others
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit, including:
Messages
Audio recordings
Speaking practice responses
Profile information
Learning preferences and goals
However, by using the Service, you grant Read Bean a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

Transmit your content to AI providers
Store your content
Analyze your content to provide personalized learning experiences
Use your content to operate, maintain, improve, and develop the Service
This license exists solely to provide and improve Read Bean.
We do not sell your content.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Read Bean uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content, translations, explanations, corrections, reading materials, and speaking practice responses.
You acknowledge that:
AI-generated content is automated
Content may contain errors or inaccuracies
Explanations and translations may not always be correct
Cultural, linguistic, and contextual information may occasionally be incomplete
AI-generated content does not constitute professional advice
You should not rely on Read Bean for:
Legal advice
Medical advice
Financial advice
Professional translation services
Use of AI-generated content is at your own risk.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use Read Bean for illegal purposes
Harass, threaten, or abuse others
Attempt to reverse engineer the Service
Interfere with the Service's operation
Upload malicious code
Attempt to access unauthorized systems
Use the Service to generate unlawful, harmful, or abusive content
We may suspend or terminate accounts violating these rules.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Some features require a paid subscription.
Subscriptions may be billed through:
Apple App Store
Google Play Store
Other payment providers
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled.
You can cancel at any time through your App Store or payment provider account settings.
All payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
Apple, Google, and other payment providers manage billing and refund processes.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, reading content, lesson structures, scenario formats, educational materials, and content provided by Read Bean, is owned by Refond, Inc. or its licensors.
You may not:
Copy
Modify
Distribute
Reverse engineer
Create derivative works from
any part of the Service without permission.
"Read Bean" and related branding are protected trademarks.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
Violate these Terms
Misuse the Service
Create security risks
Engage in fraudulent activity
You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
10. Privacy
Your use of Read Bean is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data.
11. Third-Party Services
Read Bean uses third-party providers, including:
AI providers
Cloud hosting providers
Analytics providers
Payment processors
Speech recognition and text-to-speech providers
We are not responsible for third-party services.
Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
We do not guarantee that the Service will be:

Available at all times
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Read Bean disclaims all warranties, express or implied.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Read Bean, Refond, Inc., and its affiliates shall not be liable for:
Indirect damages
Consequential damages
Lost profits
Lost data
Service interruptions
Learning outcomes or educational results
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Read Bean, Refond, Inc., its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims arising from:
Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your misuse of AI-generated content
Your violation of any law or third-party rights
15. Changes to the Service
We may:
Modify features
Add or remove functionality
Change pricing
Update learning content
Update or discontinue portions of the Service
